The Situation
of the Client

The client was assembling parts to produce a Gunboat 60 catamaran, so he could partake in the BVI Spring Regatta in Philipsburg, St Maarten. The last two critical parts, the boom and the mast, were manufactured in Rhode Island. The client needed a reliable and expert logistics provider, who could arrange for the parts to be shipped to Philipsburg on time, in perfect condition.

The Challenges

The client needed to ship the boom and the mast, which was 91 ft long, from Rhode Island to St Maarten. Unfortunately, steamship lines from the northeast were not able to accommodate the cargo due to the length. These components were critical in the completion of the catamaran, so the client required the cargo to be shipped as soon as possible.

To ship the cargo on time, Ben Federico arranged the logistics from Rhode Island to Florida, where the length of the mast could be accommodated and then shipped to St Maarten. To handle this successfully, Ben Federico coordinated all resources and requirements, such as specialized equipment, expert drivers, permits, escort, etc., in order to transport the cargo in a safe manner.

The Result

The driver collected the cargo in Rhode Island on June 23rd and arrived in Florida four days after, ahead of the vessel cutoff of June 28th. Due to the urgency, the parts were able to sail on July 1st , arriving in St Maarten after four days. The boat was completed on time and was able to partake in the coming event.
