The Situation
of the Client

The client’s general contractor was experiencing delays in manufacturing the amount of materials ordered. To overcome this, the contractor had to outsource some of the orders from four different factories, namely in Wisconsin, two in Missouri, and Florida. Because of this situation, the client needed a reliable freight forwarder, who can coordinate all the logistics requirements to send the cargo to Jamaica in the fastest and most cost-efficient way.

Client: Project Manager
Industry: Construction
Location: USA to Jamaica
Timeline: 30 Days

The Challenges

Ben Federico’s client encountered delays with their general contractor in receiving the ordered materials at the discussed timeline. Additionally, now that the cargo is manufactured in different locations, shipping them separately from their nearest ports to Montego Bay, Jamaica can increase the cost of transporting them.

The Solution

To ensure that the client experiences no further delays, Ben Federico scheduled thirty-six 53’ flatbed trucks to load the cargo from each of the locations and deliver to Ben Federico’s warehouse. This was arranged so the materials could be offloaded from the thirty-six 53’ flat beds and consolidated unto twenty-five 40’ flat racks.

The Result

Shipping the materials on twenty-five flat racks enabled the client to save approximately US$50,000. This also accelerated the shipping process by having less equipment to clear and transport to the final destination. The client was then able to receive the cargo at the soonest time possible and experience no further delays.
